About Jonathan Paul

Jonathan Paul describes success as pulling back the fear, enduring a risk to explore uncharted waters. Born and raised in upstate New York, Jonathan surrounded his childhood in music and displays his word with action by jumping in front of a live church audience, never before playing an instrument to fill an empty seat at the drums. Inspiring others to follow, he moved aside from the drums, taught himself how to play the guitar and soon became lead vocalist.

Jonathan was known for entertaining with candid words and jokes, a great story teller described by his friends. Taking his ability to relate to people to paper, he began writing songs using his experiences and those of his friends while traveling up and down the east coast. People began to say, "Sing it again, Rap it again", and requested songs to be written. It was only the beginning. Reactions from a cappella lyric resulted in recording of music on a laptop and Jonathan's home studio was established. A Motif ES series keyboard/ synthesizer was added to the workstation to assist in song development. Jonathan describes his lyric style, "A song of raw edge, feelings of excitement or an emotional rollercoaster of the countless ways individuals experience happiness, heart break, and pain."

Currently residing in Los Angeles County, CA, motivation came from a close friend with strong words of truth. "It's good to inspiring one at a time, you can also release music for people to enjoy and inspire hundreds." Jonathan Paul with his pop rock style is certain to continue to inspire and distribute his music at a new level as he responded to his friend's words with unparallel commitment and devotion birthing a Website with the "Write A Song" page.

The Write A Song page, Jonathan says, "provides opportunity for the public to participate. You will find some acrostic versions to enjoy." A friend requested song entitled, "You're my Moon", is a love song written about a friend visiting the States from Germany separated from his significant other. The ability to connect to another individual with emotional relevance was proven, through the timing of the written song correlated with Jonathan's filed divorce in 2008. Jonathan says, "The song was tough to write because the lyric forced me to sever one emotion and embrace the opposite." A colleague shared her story one day about her father passing away and her marital struggles, raising her daughter alone everything seemed dark. "Times of Your Life" was written in her honor as encouragement. Perhaps a simple thank you for the monotony of day to day tasks will make you believe there is something greater as outlined in the song, "Make Me Believe." Raising the question, what if relationships truly made us feel appreciated? Jonathan says, "The hope for, the write a song page, is people relate to the music created from others circumstances and perhaps feel they have been caught in the same identifiable emotion."

Jonathan says, "I enjoy music, it's a lifestyle, using it for self motivation and a safe retreat oasis. Most of the lyric's have another meaning than the present face value, and some of it simply concentrates on the highs and lows of life." Some new personal songs written in 2011 available on the website include, "Final Hour", "Fast Track" and a remake of "Amazing Grace." Bernadine Joy, Jonathan Paul's sister, has joined in on vocals. Jonathan's goal for the near future is to release an album with a few of his personal songs and a few of the highest voted songs from the public's write a song page. "I will always create music and will go as far as it will takes me, simply doing for others what I enjoy."
